What this site keeps, and what it does not.
Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, and what you enter stays in your browser unless you choose to send it.
Your chooser answers
The publishing path chooser saves your answers and your place in the questions in your browser's local storage, under one key, so you can close the page and come back to your result later. They stay on your device until you choose "Start over" on the result, clear your browser's site data, or use a private window (which discards them when closed). They are not sent anywhere unless you fill in the optional form.
When you finish, a plain-words summary of your answers and ranking is also held in your browser's session storage, so that if you choose to send the form, it can go with it. That copy is deleted when you close the tab.
Counting visits
To know whether the site is useful, it counts events such as "a page was viewed," "the chooser was started" or "the chooser finished with this top path." Each count is stored only as a total per day. No cookie is set, and no IP address, device ID or other identifier is stored with the counts.
Links that carry campaign tags
If you arrived from a link with campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), the site keeps those tags in session storage and sends them with the optional form, so Scribe knows which link brought you. Links from this site to scribemedia.com are tagged to show they came from here.
If you send the form
Your name, email, optional phone number, the page you sent it from and what you entered in the tool are sent to Scribe Media and stored in Scribe's customer system (HubSpot). Scribe uses them to get in touch with you and as described in the Scribe Media privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Fonts and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web server, these receive standard request information such as your IP address in order to deliver the page.
